We changed that now with the introduction of Soft and Hard Clearance!īuildings with Hard Clearance are all buildings that have functionality such as Constructors, Assemblers, Power Poles, Splitter, the HUB, etc. Previously (almost) all buildings had a building clearance that prevented you from building them into each other. Simply select the material type you would like the buildable to have and build away! You can even bind the material type to your hotbar if you’re on the go. You can also place build pieces with the material you want from the get-go.

It’s a safe and easy way to quickly change the look of your existing factories. Once you’ve unlocked a new Material you just select it in the Customizer, click or hold and just paint away! Any material you select will only be applied to structures that are relevant. But unlocking a new Material for Foundations, which you also do in the AWESOME Shop, will allow you to apply that Material to any of the Foundations you have available. For example, new shapes of Foundations are still unlocked in the AWESOME Shop, and initially they only come in the standard FICSIT Material. While we had FICSIT and Steel Walls before, this changes how these buildings are unlocked and used. We’ve added new Materials for Foundations and Walls, and the newly added Roofs come with several Materials as well. We can’t wait to see what you all will create with this! Let’s go ahead and dig into the new content available to you now.

And if you want to go straight to the nitty gritty details, we have the full list of detailed patch notes further down as well! If you have been following our YouTube videos you’ve seen lots of the new content already, but you can find all of that (and as usual a few exciting surprises) summarised in our Patch Notes video below. Additionally, Conveyor attachment placement has been upgraded, now helping players play smarter by automatically selecting the correct attachments dependent on surfaces.Update 5 is now available on Experimental. With ease of movement a key player in this update, Conveyor Belts have gotten a new support that can be attached to ceilings. The greater the distance travelled, the faster the Zipline Sprinting goes, assisting players increase efficiency and productivity. Using the same controls as regular sprinting, players can enter Zipline Sprinting. This new update also brings a brand new 'Sprint Mode' via Ziplines. Better, Faster, Stronger, But Not Harder! Alien DNA Capsules, produced from the remains of hostile alien wildlife, can now be exchanged for FICSIT Coupons in the AWESOME Sink. These modes come with a promise of new game modes in future updates! Now players will have more options on hunting alien creatures and can be rewarded with coupons for killing and looting alien creatures on their venture for total planetary industrialization. 'Regular' is where hostile creatures attack player characters, 'Retaliate' will see hostile creatures only attack if the player attacked them first, and 'Passive' sees creatures never attack the player character. Update 7 will contain 'creature hostility' modes, to complement individual styles of play. Additionally, factory-building moguls can organize to their own preferences, fully controlling categories, subcategories, and ordering. Players can look forward to this feature appearing in the Build Menu which will house all player Blueprints. Additionally, production-line Blueprints will be fully functional as Conveyor Belts, Pipelines, Power connections and Recipes can be used and saved. They can save their setup and a Blueprint will be saved with their custom set-up to be used over and over. Players simply place a Blueprint Designer (pictured below) and construct other buildings within the design space. The Blueprint Designer will significantly change how players can approach building their factory, enabling them to design their own Blueprint solutions, with both fully functional production lines and aesthetic factory designs. The headline feature of Satisfactory Update 7 allows players to create their own combinations of buildings and components, and save them to be built over and over again.
